Machinery Safety
Australian Plant Safety, EU Machinery Directive and US OHSAT

Work Health and Safety (WHS) and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Acts and Regulations require that machines be safe. Hazard identification, risk assessment and the application of appropriate risk controls are necessary to ensure this safety.

  • We undertake assessments for machine safety against the EU’s Machinery Directive, US and Australian safety standards and regulations for Machinery Safety.   We focus on machine guards and safety related parts of the control system.  The standards we apply include:

                               AS 4024              AS 60204.1         AS 1657

                               ISO 13849.1     ISO 13857           EN ISO 12100           EN 13850           EN 14120

                                NFPA 79

  • For Australia this includes each state and territory OHS Acts and Regulations and their respective Compliance Codes and Standards.  For the EU the Machinery Directive and Pressure Equipment Directive and for the USA the standards and codes of the NFPA and OSHA.

  • Our reports address all the applicable standards, directives, codes and safety marks and we provide advice on the design changes necessary to bring the products in compliance.

  • We also prepare the  technical file and assist in the preparation of the instructions for use.
